Both the leading television audience research organisations† have made this a more eventful day by reporting that the ten programmes with the largest audiences in the Northern Region were all broadcast by Granada TV Network — week ending 21.4.57. The rate of growth of audiences to Granada TV during the first year is the fastest in the country, and today Granada programmes in the North reach more viewers than is achieved in any other single ITV Region. Viewers have made this a happy first birthday for Granada.
